The first two that I have decided to post are of Lois’ childhood home in the Sammamish Valley, and of her 1941 Girl Scout membership card.
Readers of Unrestorable Habitat will recall that this home is the one that the Phillips family bought for unpaid taxes in July; that they moved into on Halloween night in 1937; and that they shared for a time with the previous owner and his friend.
Readers who recall Lois’ story of spending two frigid hours in the morning, before school, in the Redmond Watch Tower as a part of the local Girl Scout tour of duty (the Boy Scouts got the afternoon shift), may appreciate this picture of Lois’ Girl Scout membership card.
